You can start your training right here. In this set of pages we describe some of the core programming and scripting technologies used by web professionals to create web sites. In each case we give an overview of the capabilities of the technology, to illustrate the broad range of functions that websites can provide.

For each technology we also indicate which users can access it. This point is of increasing importance in today's electronic marketplace, since clients can access Internet pages using a variety of browsers, and with their systems configured in various different ways.

Most of the pages in this website have been created using only 'safe' technologies. That is, they have been designed to be usable regardless of a user's browser type, browser settings, operating system, screen resolution, etc.

However, because some of the pages in this particular category contain examples of the technologies we use, some users may not be able to view them as intended.
